A potential wedding dress!! (and some initial ideas for styling it)

I found a dress I may wear for a my wedding! I found it in the Brick Lane Beyond Retro when we were down in London, after having tried and failed in all the other Brick Lane vintage shops, most of which were tiny and either totally picked over or WAY overpriced. But Beyond Retro is pretty reasonable and massive. I'm getting married over two days, with the ceremony and a lunch on the Friday, and a reception with dancing on Saturday. So I need two dresses, a day one and a night one. This one would be the day one.

It's from the 1950s or 60s I'd guess, with a fitted waist and a sort of faux-wrap skirt (you can't really see it in the pictures). The fabric is a creamy beigy ivory colour with a gold leaf embroidery design. It's a little worn around the bottom and plainer/ more 'day dress' than I was looking for really, and the skirt is too small to put a crinoline under it. I did sort of imagine myself wearing a prom dress with a crinoline. But I can always do that on the Saturday.

This dress was only £30, so I thought I could take a chance on it, and if I find something better and don't end up getting married in it, I can always wear it as a party dress. I kind of love the idea that while most people spend about a grand on their wedding dress alone, I could probably put together the whole outfit for under £100. I think it will scrub up nicely with the right accessories. Here's a few choices:

First off, I'll need a fascinator or a hat.

Maybe something like this? This is one of Alix the cherry blossom girls' bridesmaid's but I reckon this headpiece would totally work for a bride!

Or maybe a pillbox hat? I love the way this vintage black and gold one looks on the model, and it's got metallic threads just like the dress.

Or maybe something simpler like this handmade beaded hairband?

And maybe then I could add a cute bag. Do brides even have bags? I suppose you're already holding a bouquet, aren't you, and have minions to carry stuff for you. But how cute would a little bag be! Maybe another tradition for me to dispense with!

Something properly golden?

Or this cute little beaded number?

Or a slightly more complex beaded one?

Or a brocade one to match the dress?

How would you style this dress?
